Specialty Valuation Process

Depending on the needs of your situation, our experts will work with you and your team to:

  • Perform and in-depth assessment of the past 3-5 years of financial data for your business(s). This includes identifying any changes or volatility, identifying the factors impacting those changes, and developing a deep understanding of the operations of the business.
  • In states where goodwill is a factor in legal settlements, our experts will analyze the relationships of the business to identify when and how those relationships arose and what activities went into developing those accounts.
  • Provide expert witness testimony in court along with support identifying and addressing discovery issues.
  • Prepare for court, including meeting with you and your attorney to help prepare cross-examination questions, conduct interviews, and analyze relevant evidence and discovery.
For contested matters, specialty valuations are specific to the state that the business operates in or where the business owner resides.

Our Process

Due to the unique nature of situations that require this level of support, our service operates on a retainer basis similar to that of a legal advisor. As a result, we take a consultative approach to the engagement, first meeting with you to understand your situation and needs. From there our team will provide a proposal for engagement that outlines the services we will provide and obligations for all parties, along with guidelines for the initial retainer and ongoing billing as necessary.
